Key Takeaway
If you're choosing an agency, don't decide by the TikTok badge alone; compare the work you'll hand over with the assigned team's experience. The September announcement added a Premier tier to the previous single level.
How are the two tiers divided?
The official announcement describes Agency Partner in terms of operating capability and certified team expertise, and adds Premier as a tier for select top partners. Check both tiers within the partner program. Just do not take Premier as a guarantee of results on every kind of work.
What should you ask besides the badge?
Ask about cases close to your industry and goals, the scope of creative production, how they report and who manages the account. Experience with large campaigns in another country has different conditions from running a small campaign in Korea. It is also good to ask before signing what role the person who will actually do the work will play.
Where do you check partner status?
Check the company name and tier in the TikTok Partner Directory that the announcement links to. Also compare whether the badge image the agency sent you matches the current listing. When you collect quotes, compare fees, creative production costs, account access rights and the handover terms when the contract ends separately.
